The Exhibit Building, newly opened in Fall, 2007, includes additional displays and has larger equipment, including a mail wagon and farm equipment. New equipment and displays are being added regularly.

The Pewaukee Apple display, in the Exhibit building, shows the history of this apple which was developed by Pewaukeean, George Peffer, who had a fruit farm and nursery across from what is now the Waukesha County Technical College campus. Mr. Peffer received an award in 1870 from the American Pomological Society for the Pewaukee Apple. There has been renewed interest in the Pewaukee Apple.

2011 Civil War Cemetery Walk and
Fourth of July Parade

Scouts from Pewaukee Troop #13 helped at this year's Pewaukee Area Historical Society's (PAHS) "Civil War Cemetery Walk" event held June 19th at Forest Hill Cemetery.  Some handed out programs, others manned specific grave sites and shared researched information on  the deceased soldier.  Scouts pictured are Dexter Blumberg, Jeremy Frodl, Conner Pribyl, Devin Pribyl, Sam Knepprath and Mark Liedke.

Sharon Strieter, chairperson for PAHS's 2-year Civil War Commemoration Program, gives last minute assistance to fellow committee members as the start of this year's Civil War Cemetery Walk gets ready to begin.

Gordy Merz (right), all decked out as a civil war soldier, and Assistant Scout Leader, Pewaukee Troop #13 Tracy Blumberg take a moment to chat before this year's Civil War Cemetery Walk starts.  With the wonderful turn-out at the event, it was their last chance!

PAHS Civil War Commemoration Committee members (from left to right) Gordy Merz, Kathy Novack, Abraham Lincoln, and Tom Brick get ready to join others in celebrating the 4th of July by marching in this year's Pewaukee parade.

Samantha Willis and Abe start their trek through the streets of Pewaukee on the Pewaukee Area Historical Society's entry in this year's Pewaukee 4th of July parade.

Samantha Willis, Old Abe, and father Jim Willis, president of the Pewaukee Area Historical Society, are all set for the start of this year's Pewaukee 4th of July parade.
